NOTES:

Sewing is the core of our summer camp. Students will be sewing for most of the day.

Project Examples: Garment construction, Crafts, Crochet, Fabric Painting, Tie-dye, Jewelry Making, and Fashion Illustration.

Most fabric is not provided. Parents will be notified when fabric must be purchased. *

There will be free time:

Most of the day consists of sewing but campers will be given free time for activities other than sewing.

Other Activities: Walks, Library Time (Reading or Any Summer Projects), Game Time, Movies, and Socializing.

Weekly Trips:

Campers will go on themed field trips at the end of every week.
There is an additional fee for field trips.
Trips are subject to change.*

Campers will have time for Lunch and snack.
Campers must provide their own Lunch and Snacks.

Please do not bring any kind of peanuts due to allergies.*

JUNE 3RD Introduction to sewing

TRIP: AMF Bowling june 7th $10 2pm-3:30pm

This week students will learn the fundamentals of sewing and make a sample book to build their skills. They will learn the reasons why people saw and why they want to dive into the field a  fashion.

June 10th Textiles 101-Learning new Fabrics

TRIP: Movies $9 AMC Owings Mills 17 june 14th 2pm-4pm

1 yard of 3 different types of fabrics

2 Basic white or old tee’s skirts, or pants

This week students will learn the different types of fabrics that exist and Create logos use to scan and cut technology As well as how to weave fabric.

June 17th discovering the rainbow-  learn color manipulation and color blocking

TRIP: Roller Skating @ Hot skates $10.50  june 21st 2-4pm

SUPPLY LIST:

1 yard of each 4 different colors, solid cotton non-stretch fabric

Any color of 2 min yards of playful ribbon or trim.

This week students will discover the rainbow with unicorn themed projects! We will go over the color wheel, Color blocking, and color manipulation through Fabrics. Students will be able to choose between making shorts pants skirts or A-line dresses or a sleeveless tank top.

June 24th Pajama Party Week - pajamas /pillows/ Blankets

2 YARDS OF 2 types of FLEECE OR BLANKET LIKE FABRICS FOR THROW

1 small bag of quilt batting (optional)( NON- STRETCH FABRICS ARE RECOMMENDED )

This week students will make onesies and pajama pants as well as a blanket for home they will learn how to sew with fleece and other Fabrics to create comfy clothes.

Students will get ready to embrace their Wild Side By creating their favorite Safari stuffed animal and cargo shorts to visit Irvine Nature Center fun crafts include paper flowers African inspired jewelry and more.

This week will be full of fun cute sewing projects with food-themed fabrics.Boys will be able to make chef coats as girls will be making Lolita dresses and aprons Students will visit Granite Rose Tea Room as a fun trip on Friday and learn proper  English tea time etiquette.

July 29th Summer Splash- Swimwear swimsuits beach clothing

TRIP: North Arundel Aquatic Center Aug 2nd $16

SUPPLY LIST:

1.5 yard of cotton fabric

3 yards of stretch swimsuit specialty fabric (can be a variety)

1 easy to sew swimsuit pattern similar to this.

 

This week will be a big splash when these kids make their very own swim attire like a cover-up, swimsuits,and swim shorts!

Aug 5th Project Runway prep week -Design and pattern making

Just Like It TV show Project Runway, these kids have one week to get started on making their very own look! we will go shopping together at Jo-Ann Fabrics and pick out fabrics for their very own creation!
